more boys stuff

Hello to all. I know it has been a bit. But lets face it, we are a
little bit busy with Pua, family in for Christmas and trips to the
hospital. We have once again forgotten what sleep is. But we all know
that just comes with being a parent.

Now onto what you all want to know. The boys are doing wonderfully. We
still don't expect them home until the middle to end of January but they
are growing fast. As of last night Joshua is 4lb 13.6oz and Mac is 4lb
12.6 oz. They are each eating 1.5oz every 3 hours. Currently I am
keeping up with them, but if they go up more I will be behind them. I am
praying they will catch on to the breast feeding so that they can
stimulate the amount they need. Currently we breast feed at noon and 9pm.
I say noon, but they aren't interested in that feeding. But at 9pm, they
are night owls just like daddy, they nurse for about 15-20 minutes. Then
they get worn out and go to sleep and we continue the tube feeding.
Joshua is off of his oxygen. He still has to have caffeine doses every 12
hours, but that is normal. They both have had their feeding tubes
trasfered to their nose so that they can latch on correctly to nurse. It
looks like next week we will start trying to bottle feed them. If that
goes well and they take the 8 bottles in 24 hours, each within 20 minutes,
we should be able to bring them home. As I said, they are doing great and
progressing by leaps and bounds. Today they would have been 34 weeks.
They are 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't believe it has gone by this quickly.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers. They will be coming home
during RSV season. And since Abigail is in daycare, they are at a higher
risk. They will be getting the RSV shot every month until April or May.
But this is like the flu shot. It is 95% effective and they can still get
RSV it just wont be as bad. The bad thing is these shots are $900-1100
dollars each shot/child, every month. We do have good insurance but of
course we will still have our $2000 out of pocket expense. But as we have
learned, the Lord blessed us with these boys and He will provide. Thank
you all so very much for your continued support and prayers.

I have included a couple photos. One is of my grandma McCabe (yes, that
is Mac's name sake) which is their great grandma. She is a fraternal twin
and her mom was a fraternal twin. I have also included a photo of
Pua. And a few more of the boys. In all the pictures of the boys Mac
is on the left and Joshua is on the right. I hope you enjoy. And please
have a safe New Years.

update on the boys (as posted by that woman)

Hello all. We went to see the boys this evening and they are in one
bed!!! Yeah, now we don't have to have a nurse come and get them out for
us. We can simply wash up and pick them up. They still have wires
attached, but they are not in a box and have a wire attached to the box
like before. They had Joshua on room air only, and he was doing well.
But the last couple times they did that he would get too tired after about
20 minutes and need to be put back on oxygen. We had to leave after about
an hour because a new baby was being brought into the same room. So the
boys now share a room with another baby. It shouldn't cause any problems
with us continuing to visit. We just had to leave since he/she was a
fresh one. Anyway, all is going well. We are very proud. Of course this
time we didn't have the camera. So I am going to make sure we have the
camera tomorrow to get a picture of them bundled together in their new
bed. As soon as we do I will email you all a new photo. Have a great
evening.

joshua ray was born at 5:25pm
they were both 3lb 13oz and were both 16in long.
they are doing well but need to overcome some stuff. afterall, they were due feb 9th.

joshua is the first pic with my right hand. he is on a ventilator, but that is only to keep his lungs expanded.

mccabe, or mac is the 2nd pic with my left hand. he is on a machine right now to keep his lungs expanded as well, just a different type.

mommy is doing well. in some pain, but seems to be handling it okay. they took her epidural out and she took some tylenol for the hurt. yes tylenol, not vicadin, demmoral, or anything else they offered. what a woman.

i am very proud of them all. that woman gets to be home for christmas, we get to go out to eat this weekend! the boys are in good hands at the hospital, and God is over us all.

da boys

updated email about the boys. if you are just finding out, call me and i will update. from that woman.

Hello everyone. I had my sonogram today so I thought I would give you all
an update. Today I am 30weeks and 3 days. The boys are back to their
normal heart rates. Which is a huge blessing. They seem to have switched
on their weight gain. Joshua is 3lb 10oz and McCabe is 3lb 15oz. Now,
these are estimates. The Doctor measures their head and femur to come up
with this weight. But this is a good size. We are praying that they will
gain another 1-1 1/2 in the next 3 weeks. 5lb babies would be great.
Regardless of their weight, they will still go to the NICU since they are
premature. But the bigger and more developed they are, the less they will
have to remain there.
I have been here 4 1/2 weeks, since Nov 1st. I feel like I should pay
rent, but I have a feeling that rent bill will hit me after we get home
when they send us the bill. Thank God for insurance. I don't know what
we do without it. I have informed batman that he can't leave company
until we are done having kids.
Anyway, if you could all just keep the family in your prayers. Pua is
still handling this quite nicely. Although batman said yesterday that
pua is saying 'See mommy RIGHT NOW!' We had a great time last night
playing with her. Only 3 weeks left, then I will be home for Christmas,
as long as I don't have any complications from the c-section. And then of
course please keep praying for the boys. That they will continue to gain
weight and fully develop.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. I don't know what we would do
without God and all of you.
In Him,
batman, that woman, pua, Joshua and McCabe
