more boys stuff

Hello to all. I know it has been a bit. But lets face it, we are a
little bit busy with Pua, family in for Christmas and trips to the
hospital. We have once again forgotten what sleep is. But we all know
that just comes with being a parent.

Now onto what you all want to know. The boys are doing wonderfully. We
still don't expect them home until the middle to end of January but they
are growing fast. As of last night Joshua is 4lb 13.6oz and Mac is 4lb
12.6 oz. They are each eating 1.5oz every 3 hours. Currently I am
keeping up with them, but if they go up more I will be behind them. I am
praying they will catch on to the breast feeding so that they can
stimulate the amount they need. Currently we breast feed at noon and 9pm.
I say noon, but they aren't interested in that feeding. But at 9pm, they
are night owls just like daddy, they nurse for about 15-20 minutes. Then
they get worn out and go to sleep and we continue the tube feeding.
Joshua is off of his oxygen. He still has to have caffeine doses every 12
hours, but that is normal. They both have had their feeding tubes
trasfered to their nose so that they can latch on correctly to nurse. It
looks like next week we will start trying to bottle feed them. If that
goes well and they take the 8 bottles in 24 hours, each within 20 minutes,
we should be able to bring them home. As I said, they are doing great and
progressing by leaps and bounds. Today they would have been 34 weeks.
They are 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't believe it has gone by this quickly.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers. They will be coming home
during RSV season. And since Abigail is in daycare, they are at a higher
risk. They will be getting the RSV shot every month until April or May.
But this is like the flu shot. It is 95% effective and they can still get
RSV it just wont be as bad. The bad thing is these shots are $900-1100
dollars each shot/child, every month. We do have good insurance but of
course we will still have our $2000 out of pocket expense. But as we have
learned, the Lord blessed us with these boys and He will provide. Thank
you all so very much for your continued support and prayers.

I have included a couple photos. One is of my grandma McCabe (yes, that
is Mac's name sake) which is their great grandma. She is a fraternal twin
and her mom was a fraternal twin. I have also included a photo of
Pua. And a few more of the boys. In all the pictures of the boys Mac
is on the left and Joshua is on the right. I hope you enjoy. And please
have a safe New Years.
